Wedding Planning for the Fall & Winter

Wedding Planning for the Fall & Winter

In a year (just a bit less), Brian and I (Heather) will be getting married in the mountains at an elevation of 4400 feet. The place is absolutely gorgeous, and while the cabin isn’t as big as we’d like, we have talked about camping in a tent so the family could fit two more people in the house. The outside is that gorgeous and we’ve only seen pictures! I’m a little concerned about it being cold, however. November 1st this year was 68 degrees, but that’s in town. I wonder how much colder on the mountain it was.

This brings me to the question of should I buy an almanac. Do they really help plan events outside? It’s not like I wouldn’t use it for other events I have coming up next year. It’s not expensive and maybe I should put it on my Christmas list. Apparently, I’ve been told I’m hard to buy for (my one Christmas wish is to just have my entire house clean.)

Velvet Bridesmaid dress

Since it might be cold, and at the very least chilly. I wanted to make sure my maid of honor and bridesmaid are well taken care of and warm. I freeze my fingers off at 71 degrees, so I think about these things. I found this very rich and luxurious velvet dress. It should do the trick! Reasonably priced too!

My biggest pet peeve about purchasing wedding attire is that it usually doesn’t get used again. I hope that by selecting something that could be used for say… a Christmas dinner or event… that my bridal crew will be happy with the dresses. Also, there’s nothing like spending hundreds of dollars on a dress you’ll only use once, so I’m glad this doesn’t have a shocking sticker price. Do you think about these things when you’re planning your wedding?
