Checking it All Out
What an amazing view! In an effort to secure the location of our choice, we made an impromptu trip to the Cherokee area. We checked in to Smoky Falls Lodge, staying in the older part of the hotel. I truly recommend staying there in the newer part of the hotel and especially the cabins. Our room was quite large and comfortable, but the older part is dated and needs upgrades. Friday night, we decided to sample meats at Pop’s Butts on the Creek. The brisket was amazing, flavorful, and so tender. We then headed to Ingles in Waynesville to see what kinds of cakes they have. I’d like to know when they’re coming to my hometown. I love that store! Saturday morning, we woke up extra early, got ready and headed to Pop’s Place (different eatery) for breakfast. Wedding Planning for the Fall & Winter
In a year (just a bit less), Brian and I (Heather) will be getting married in the mountains at an elevation of 4400 feet. The place is absolutely gorgeous, and while the cabin isn’t as big as we’d like, we have talked about camping in a tent so the family could fit two more people in the house. The outside is that gorgeous and we’ve only seen pictures! I’m a little concerned about it being cold, however. November 1st this year was 68 degrees, but that’s in town. I wonder how much colder on the mountain it was. This brings me to the question of should I buy an almanac. Do they really help plan events outside? It’s not like I wouldn’t use it for other events I have coming up next year. It’s not expensive and maybe I should put it on my Christmas list. Apparently, I’ve been told…
